Built in 1994 with a seating capacity of over 7,000, the Hadlock Field was named after the baseball coach at Portland High, Edson Hadlock. Home to the Sea Dogs, when the Boston Red Sox became the minor leagues major affiliate, a #28;Green Monster#29; was put up, nicknamed the #28;Maine Monster,#29; earning it the title of most unique in Minor League Baseball by At the Yard Magazine.
The Hadlock Field box office is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm (year round), Saturdays, 10am to 3pm (August through December). Gates open one and a half hours prior to all games (except for Opening Day when it is two hours). Outside beverages, cans, bottles, or food are prohibited inside venue. Hadlock Field is a non-smoking public facility, with a designated smoking area located behind left-field stands. Re-entering is not allowed. ATMs are available.
