After six years in Winooski, Higher Ground reopened in So. Burlington with its first sold out show held late in 2004 with Hot Tuna. In its first year the venue saw over 100,000 patrons enjoying such acts like The Black Crowes, Bright Eyes, Cake, My Morning Jacket, Hawthorne Heights, Bowling for Soup and more.
The Higher Ground box office is open Monday through Friday, 11am to 6pm, or evenings for shows. Tickets can also be purchased at Pure Pop Records in downtown Burlington, at Peacock Music in Plattsburgh or toll free at 888-512-SHOW. Higher Ground is a smoke free establishment, though designated smoking areas have limited capacity. All shows at venue are generally standing room only. Higher Ground serves a full menu every night, remaining open for most of the evening. The venue is typically all ages, unless otherwise noted, with the exception of infants, who are not permitted inside the venue. There are two separate venues inside Higher Ground, the Ballroom and the Showcase Lounge #19; you need a separate ticket for each show.
