The Majestic Theatre was designed and built in 1929 and has stood as one of the largest theatres in Texas since its resurrection. The grand opening of the Majestic featured the presentation #28;Fox Movietone Follies of 1929,#29; and several legendary acts such as Jack Benny, Ann Miller, Bob Hope, George Burns and Mickey Rooney have all performed at the theatre since, as well as various other events and gigs such as Miss Saigon, Cats, Les Miserables, B.B. King, Lyle Lovett, Sting, Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock.
San Antonio#25;s Majestic Theatre didn#25;t just get its name for nothing; the 2311-seat theatre is San Antonio#25;s oldest and largest atmospheric theatre and is ornately decorated from head to toe. The box office is open Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at various times on Saturdays. All major credit cards and cash are accepted. Will call tickets are available for pickup two hours prior to events. Handicap seating is accessible in designated areas in the facility. No outside food or beverages are permitted, and cameras and recording devices are also prohibited in the venue, as is smoking.
