The Oklahoma City Thunder - Schedule in 2013-14

The Oklahoma City Thunder are ready to storm the court this season to face off with some of the top squads in the National Basketball Association. The Thunder are one of the best teams in the Western Conference, evidenced by the team landing the top seed in the playoffs last season. However, they were unable to reach the NBA Finals and are back in 2013-14 hungry to return to the NBA Finals and take home the championship. The Thunder play in the Northwest Division, a division that features some tough teams that will be looking to take the division crown away from Oklahoma City this season. The Thunder have one of the best players in the entire league in Kevin Durant, a silky smooth forward that is considered by many to be the most potent scorer in the NBA. Durant is looking to lead this team to an NBA Championship, but that takes a lot of dedication and hard work, something that this group is certainly willing to put in. The team has a home schedule loaded with tough matchups this season, and fans are going to have to show up in a big way for those games in order to create a great home court advantage for their beloved Thunder players. 2013-14 should be another fantastic season of hoops in Oklahoma City.

The Thunder will certainly circle all of their matchups with the San Antonio Spurs in 2013-14. The Spurs are one of the best teams in the Western Conference yet again this season, coming off a 2012-13 season in which they made it to the NBA Finals and came within just a few wins of earning the NBA Championship. The Spurs have one of the best players to ever suit up for an NBA game in big man Tim Duncan. While Duncan is undoubtedly in the twilight of his storied career, he remains a real threat on the court and had a fantastic season last year. The most dangerous player on the San Antonio roster, though, could very well be point guard Tony Parker. Parker is one of the quickest players in the NBA and gets to the rim at will against most teams. The Thunder will be looking for big men like Serge Ibaka to play good help defense down low when Parker gets past his man, which is inevitable no matter who is defending him. As always, the Thunder will look for Kevin Durant to shoulder a major scoring load, but he'll have to work for it with talented defender Kawhi Leonard draped all over him for most of the game.

Another team the Thunder will be keeping an eye on this season is the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers may have finished fourth in the Northwest standings last season, but they're a much-improved squad this season. The Blazers have a legitimate star player in forward LaMarcus Aldridge, whose versatile offensive repertoire is incredibly difficult to stop. Aldridge sets the table for the rest of the team, a group that has come together very well this season to play great team ball. Point guard Damian Lillard, coming off a Rookie of the Year season in 2012-13, looks to be the real deal. With Lillard, Aldridge and do-it-all swingman Nicolas Batum, the Blazers look like they can pose a real threat to the Thunder's hold on the division title. Any matchup in Oklahoma City between these two teams this season could be huge.

The Team

The Oklahoma City Thunder are a professional basketball organization that plays in the National Basketball Association. The Thunder play in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference, and are often pitted against their division rivals, the Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets. The Thunder look to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference, and the NBA overall. With one of the best players in the league in Kevin Durant, the Thunder have a scoring option that they can lean on each and every game if need be. Durant is still growing as an all-around talent, though, showing new wrinkles to his game each and every season. He is more than just a scorer, as he's become a very good passer and a top defender. Durant has a solid supporting cast featuring a lot of talented players, but the player that could make the biggest leap in production this season could be Serge Ibaka. The power forward has made a name for himself as a defensive maven, but he has offensive potential as well. This team should be in contention for the NBA Championship this season as long as they can stay healthy.
