The Old Town School of Folk Music has been open for over 50 years, opening in 1957. The Old Town School of Folk Music operates under founder Frank Hamilton#25;s philosophy that the teachers and students are partners in learning. The school presents performances by internationally known touring artists, some of Chicago#25;s best local artists and its staff and students.
The Old Town School of Folk Music Celebrates and teaches music and cultural expressions that are rooted in the traditions of diverse American and global communities. Enrollment in Old Town School tuition programs averages close to 6,600 students per week, 2,700 of them children. There is also a second location located at 909 West Armitage and Wiggleworms is held at several branch locations.
