You'll be able to buy alcohol only at select events, so please call 619.594.0234 in advance for more information. You must be at least 21 years old to purchase alcohol and anyone under the age of 30 will have to show valid ID.
Sorry, no backpacks or large bags are allowed inside the Viejas Arena. Please keep in mind that all bags are subject to search before you go into the facility.
The camera policy varies for each event, so please call the Viejas Arena/Open Air Theatre management office at 619.594.0234 at least 48 hours before the event for more information.
If you carry your baby into the theater in your arms, they can come in without a ticket. They'll have to sit in your lap, though, and can't take up a seat. Some events require everyone to have a ticket, regardless of their age. Please check the policy on the specific event you're attending by contacting the Viejas Arena management office at 619.594.0234.
You can bring outside food in as long as it's in a paper or plastic bag. Sorry, outside beverages are never allowed into the arena, including alcohol. If you need to bring in an unopened and sealed water bottle, though, it's ok for most events and for specific medical needs. You'll conveniently find concession stands throughout the arena that sell several different types of food and drinks, and alcohol sales vary by event. If you wish to buy an alcoholic drink, you have to be at least 21 years old and show valid ID.
Gates usually open 1 - 1.5 hours before the start of an event. Please call 619.594.0234 for verification of gate/door opening times.
Lost and found is located at the customer service booth, located at the main gate outside of Door 1. If you happen to find something that belongs to someone else, please turn it in to any staff member and they'll take it to the customer service booth for you. At the end of each event, all unclaimed items are taken to the main administrative office, so if you need to find something once you leave, please call 619.594.0234 for more information.
Sorry, the following items aren't allowed into the San Diego State Open Air Theatre:
- Beverages of any kind, including alcohol
- Containers, cans, or bottles (plastic, aluminum, or glass)
- Large bags or backpacks
- Footballs or basketballs
- Banners (signs are allowed as long as they're smaller than 20"x20" and their content has been reviewed)
Sorry, re-entry isn't allowed at Open Air Theatre. To enter, you must show an unused ticket.

- Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Pacific
Summer hours:
- Monday - Friday: 10:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m. Pacific
Winter hours:
