The Selena Auditorium was originally built in 1979 and was named after the incredible Latina performer Selena in 1996 after the vocalist was killed in Corpus Christi in 1995. The venue has recently undergone extensive renovation, and it has attracted touring acts such as Rodney Carrington, Bob the Builder Live and Footloose, among others.
Paying tribute to the great Tejano vocalist Selena Quintanilla-Perez, Corpus Christi#25;s Selena Auditorium is a 2,500 capacity multi-purpose venue that hosts some of the best musical acts and plays touring the nation. The box office is open two hours prior to events. No smoking is allowed inside the venue, and no cameras, food or alcoholic beverages of any kind are allowed inside, either.
