The Shryock Auditorium is located on Old Campus of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and was built in 1917 by Chicago architect JB Dibelka. The building was dedicated to the University#25;s fifth President, Henry William Shryock, who served from 1913 to 1935. It has seen such legendary performers as The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Ray Charles, Judy Collins and Dana Carvey perform on its stage.
The Shryock Auditorium box office is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 5pm, and on show dates one hour prior to curtain time. Still cameras are typically not permitted, nor are video cameras, food and drink, smoking, moshing or crowd surfing. All persons, regardless of age, must carry a ticket. Children under the age of four are not recommended for shows after 6pm. Wheelchair accessible. Service animals for guests with disabilities are welcome.
