The Shubert Theater seats 1,521 patrons. The theater was named for one of the infamous producing brothers Sam S. Shubert and is a favorite Broadway theater attraction for New York City visitors. It opened in 1913 and has seen performances including Othello, Hamlet, and A Chorus Line.
The Shubert Theatre Box Office is open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 8pm, and Sunday noon to 6pm. The Shubert Theater Box Office usually opens anywhere from two to four weeks before the first preview date, and may vary depending on show schedule. Recording devices are prohibited in the Shubert Theater, as is smoking. The Shubert Theater is not completely wheelchair accessible, but there is assistive listening system which should be reserved in advance.
