Lehigh University opened the doors to Stabler Arena in 1979. It is most often used as a sports venue, with wrestling being a key attraction. It also is the home to Lehigh#25;s basketball team, the Mountain Hawks. The venue also hosts many different, unique shows throughout the year and many music concerts. Some acts that have appeared on the famous stage, include: the Grateful Dead, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan and Fleetwood Mac among others.
The Stabler is a down to earth venue that does not have an uptight or fancy appeal. There are no corporate seats for high rollers and no pricey microbrewery. Also there is no cigar bar and no valet parking. Every patron who visits the Stabler is treated the same, sparking a down home type of feel that is most appreciated at Lehigh University.
