It took many, many years before the Square Center took on its former glory. In the 1970s, a group of activists in the city decided that they cared about the area enough to try and push for it to be revitalized. It took a lot of hard work, but years later, the theaters are open again and attract plenty of business from throughout the city.
Palace Theatre is just one of several theaters that sprung up in a wave of entertainment development in the city during the 1920s. At the time, these theaters were known more for providing audiences with touring vaudeville acts and silent films rather than theater as we know it today. But with time, sadly, the area fell into disrepair.
