Strahan Coliseum was first built as an $8.8 million sports venue to host Texas State University#25;s men#25;s and women#25;s basketball teams, completed in 1982. The coliseum has undergone renovations over the past several years and is a state-of-the-art facility. Strahan Coliseum has been home to the Texas State Bobcats for years, and the school#25;s colors are maroon and old gold. The facility also hosts occasional special events and concerts.
Texas State University#25;s Strahan Colisum is home to the Texas State men#25;s and women#25;s basketball teams and volleyball team. The facility features individual seats including 1,176 theater-style padded seats and also boasts a wood playing surface. The 7,200-seat venue also has two full-size practice courts, weight rooms, straining rooms and locker rooms for several other collegiate sports. The box office is located at the Athletic Administration Building on the corner of Aquarena Springs Drive and Charles Austin Drive and is open Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on game days 1 ½ hours prior to start time. No outside food or drink, large bags, video cameras, alcohol, weapons or pets are allowed inside the venue. Both cash and credit cards are accepted at the venue on game days.
