In 1963 Norwalk Dragway opened; a decade later Bill Bader, Jr. purchased the arena and helped it focus on family events along with racing. Since 2007 it has been a National Hot Rod Association facility that hosts NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. In 2007 Summit Racing Equipment purchased the naming rights to the facility.
The box office accepts cash. Glass containers are not permitted inside the venue. Children under 12 years of age are permitted free entrance with an adult present. Coolers are prohibited from the venue. The park serves a variety of concession food. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Registration is open for twelve hours for races, from noon until midnight.
