In the #24;60s, when The Ark was started, the dominant music of the time was the protest rock of the era. Folk set down its roots in the area, and nowhere more so than at The Ark. Folk artists from all over have performed there and enriched patrons for years now. Not surprisingly, The Ark can always boast of an amazing lineup of talented folk artists.
The Ark is a non-profit dedicated to promoting acoustic, ethnic and folk music of all sorts. This leads to an exciting and eclectic lineup on a weekly basis. The Ark was founded in 1965 by four churches that opened a coffeehouse that was meant to simply offer the community a safe place to hang out, relax and get away from the world.
