The Walter Pyramid first opened on November 30, 1994. The venue is tough to miss on campus as it is an 18-story blue pyramid that is visible in the city skyline. The building was designed by Don Gibbs and originally cost $22 million to build. Each side of the Pyramid is 345 feet as it has a perfectly square base. The Pyramid was named after donors Dr. Mike and Arline Walter in 2005.
The box office is open during normal business hours and an hour before the event starts. To make arrangements for handicapped seating, call ahead. No outside food or beverages are allowed in the Walter Pyramid. Young children who can sit on someone’s lap do not need a ticket of their own for Long Beach State athletic events.
