Vinnie Paz Fires Up Audiences
Vinnie Paz is an edgy, topical artist that fans flock to. For years, he's shocked audiences
and won fans' devotion with hip-hop and rap pieces about politics, social ills and other subjects most artists don't dare
to touch. Now he's back and grittier than ever, doing a new tour series that fans will not want to miss.
Paz usually tours with other rap and heavy metal artists. Look for him to frontline shows in large venues in major cities
near you. He is the unofficial head of the underground hip-hop group Army of Pharaohs and can often be seen in conjunction
with other hip-hop artists who associate themselves with this group.
Did you know that Paz is Italian by
birth and heritage? That would explain why he's equally passionate about Italian food and his music. Paz's original stage
name was Ikon the Verbal Hologram, but he changed it to Vinnie Paz after his boxing hero, Vinny Pazienza. Since the name change,
his seventh album with Jedi Mind Tricks has marked a true departure for him, as it's the first to not feature help from Stoupe
the Enemy of Mankind, due to band members' growing impatience to release the album. Despite his critical success, Paz has
only made two solo albums; most of his albums are joint ventures.
Paz quickly went from an Italian-American
boy to a hip-hop sensation who doesn't shy away from controversy. As a teenager, he rapped with his friend Stoupe, who later
became part of his first band, Jedi Mind Tricks.Although Paz has recently had some solo successes, most of the time his work
is a joint venture. His association with Stoupe became Jedi Mind Tricks, which released its first album in 1998. He also organized
Army of Pharaohs during this period. This was an underground hip-hop group that released occasional albums; his main focus
was on Jedi Mind Tricks, which often featured rapper Jus Allah in addition to Stoupe.
Jedi Mind Tricks
released several popular albums, However, they really only took off after their third album, Visions of Gandhi
album was controversial and exciting because Paz did not back away from current events that most people refused to talk about.
He connected Gandhi's vision with the wars and pain in the Middle East, using rap to show his disgust for current conditions
and the need for a Gandhi-like figure. This album quickly rose to the top of the charts, securing Paz's name in the hearts
and minds of fans.
With Jedi Mind Tricks, Paz has a range of hits under his belt, such as The Psycho-Social,
Chemical, Biological and Electro-Magnetic Manipulation of Human Consciousness (1997), Violent by Design (2000), Servants in
Heaven, Kings in Hell (2006), History of Violence (2008), Violence Begets Violence (2011) and more!
with Season of the Assassin in 2010, Paz has begun experimenting with solo albums. If God of the Serengeti (2012) is any indication
of his abilities, there are many more hits to come on his solo career, as well!
