Wake Forest Demon Deacons Basketball History
With a team that has been to the NCAA
Tournament more than 20 different times, this is one of the most established teams in the country at this point. 11 former
Demon Deacons have had their number retired, including Chris Paul, Josh Howard, Charlie Davis, Tyrone Bogues, Skip Brown,
Tim Duncan, Randolph Childress, Dickie Hemric, Rod Griffin, Len Chappell, and Rodney Rogers. Former head coach Skip Prosser
has also been honored in the rafters even though he did not play for the Demon Deacons. The history of Wake Forest basketball
dates back well over a century to 1906 and although the program has never won a National Championship, it has experienced
plenty of success. The Demon Deacons have won the ACC Tournament four times and have also been the conference's regular season
champions four times. All in all, the Demon Deacons have become major parts of Winston-Salem, North Carolina sports scene,

The Deacons had three first round NBA draft picks in the 1990s. Can you name them?
answer is Rodney Rogers, Randolph Childress and Tim Duncan. After Rogers and Childress both turned excellent collegiate careers
into high draft picks, it was Tim Duncan, also known as "The Big Fundamental," who ended up the first overall pick of the
1997 draft by the San Antonio Spurs, a move that, uh, may have paid off.

Sports Complex is known as the Screamin' Demons, and shortly after the arrival of Skip Prosser as head coach they began wearing
tie-dyed shirts and also being referred to as Zombie Nation. With an amazing backdrop and some serious talent, there is plenty
of fanfare around the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for a reason.
