Washington State Cougars Basketball Schedule in 2014-15

The Washington State Cougars are back on the prowl this season, looking to make some serious noise in the Pac-12 Conference. Even though thePac-12is one of the toughest conferences in the country, the Washington State Cougars always seem to have a talented roster that is loaded with players that know how to put on a show for their fans. There is always a steady stream of talented teams in the Pac-12, but the Cougars have a high-powered program that brings together some big-time playmakers each and every season. Friel Courtat Beasley Coliseum, located on the campus Washington State University in Pullman, is always absolutely hopping with passionate fans that know how to show up in droves to provide their support. If you've never been out to Friel Court, you have absolutely no idea what you've been missing, as you're guaranteed an atmosphere that you'll be talking about well after the final whistle. The Cougars are coming off a tough 2013-14 season in which they finished second-to-last in the Pac-12 standings. The team played well outside of conference play, but notched a mere three wins against Pac-12 opponents. The Cougars are looking to show the conference and the rest of the nation that they're going to be a much-improved squad this season, and they've got plenty of tough matchups on their home schedule to prove that they're a contender in the Pac-12 in 2014-15.

The Cougars have a tough game coming their way when the Arizona Wildcats come to Pullman this season, and they know it. The Wildcats always have some elite athletes on their roster, and a team that is constantly looking to finish atop the Pac-12 standings come season's end. The Cougars are going to have to step up their game if they're going to take down the Wildcats in front of their home crowd, but this Washington State team never lacks for confidence when they've got their loyal fans behind them. That's why the fans always show up in a big way to support their beloved Cougars, especially when they're taking on a tough conference opponent like Arizona.

The Cougars will also be hosting the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins have one of the most historic and proud programs in college hoops, and they've always got a bevy of talented players that are likely to go on to star at the pro level. While Washington State surely won't be able to match UCLA in the talent department, playing team basketball and locking down defensively is often a recipe for defeating any team, no matter what individuals are on the opposing team. Fans will pack into the stands for this contest in the hopes of seeing their Cougars get a big win and build some momentum for the 2014-15 campaign. Make sure you check out the rest of the schedule as well, as there are many other fantastic games coming to town this season.

Thompson was one of the best shooters that the Cougars have ever seen, and showed his incredible versatility by playing multiple positions wile on the team. Thompson went on to be drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. He currently plays for the same team and is making a real name for himself on the pro level.
