Wichita State Shockers Basketball Road Games

Wichita State Shockers Basketball Road Game tickets

Wichita State Shockers Basketball Road Games Schedule

If you are looking to see some of the best college basketball around get yourself tickets to see the Wichita State Shockers as they make their way through the Missouri Valley Conference. Traditionally one of the best mid-major conferences in the country, the Missouri Valley Conference offers fans the chance to see highly contested basketball games played at the highest level night after night. Of course, the Shockers have taken the college basketball world by storm the past two seasons and there appears to be no turning back as they will be attempting to make it through the challenging Missouri Valley Conference schedule undefeated once again. Home games at Charles Koch Arena are exhilarating, but true die-hard Shockers fans are willing to make the trip to support the team on the road and being in an opponent's gym as you cheer on Wichita State surrounded by thousands of opposing fans is an unforgettable experience. After all, these are some of the games where the Shockers need the most encouragement from the few fans who do make the trip to attend a road game. Games at Charles Koch Arena may be hard to get tickets to after all of the excitement generated by the past two seasons but you can definitely get tickets to see the Shockers take on MVC opponents on their home court and the team always appreciates fans who show up at road games to offer support.

The Team

Coach Gregg Marshall has proven that he is one of the best in all of college basketball and as long as he is designing the plays for Wichita State there is no reason to believe that they cannot play with any team in the country. Look for sophomores like Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet to step it up next season and play an even more important role in the Shockers' success. All of the players returning for the 2014-2015 season still have the bad taste of an early NCAA Tournament exit in their mouths and will e using this as motivation from the offseason straight through March as the Shockers once again pile up wins. The success of Wichita State on the hardwood is built to last and the team still feels like it has something to prove to the rest of the country. The 2014-2015 season at Wichita State should be yet another unforgettable one so be sure to get in on all of the excitement right from the start.

The Experience

College basketball is an experience like no other. Featuring some of the best student athletes in the world along with some of the most passionate fans in all of sports, the games have an atmosphere that is unrivaled. When you set foot into an opposing team's gym for a Wichita State Shockers road basketball game this will all be clear. As the teams set up for opening tip off the fans stand up and vociferously cheer for their alma mater and hometown favorites. The game continues full of back and forth action, big time shots, and clutch defensive stops. Before you know it the clock is winding down in the second half and the two sides are wrapped up in yet another tight contest. Your palms get sweaty with each trip down the floor and each time a player from your favorite team lets loose a shot you hold your breath until the ball tickles the twine. This continues until the final buzzer when the Shockers' side erupts after another big win and their fans flow out of the arena in jubilation.

Wichita State Shockers Basketball Conference

The Missouri Valley Conference may be referred to as a "mid-major" by sports commentators but this Division I conference is not to be overlooked. It is the second oldest conference in the United States, founded in 1907 and younger than only the Big Ten. Currently ten schools participate in the Missouri Valley Conference: Bradley, Drake, University of Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State, Loyola-Chicago, Missouri State University, University of Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois University, and Wichita State. Each year the schools in the Missouri Valley Conference play one another in the conference tournament which is held in St. Louis, Missouri and known as Arch Madness, with the winner guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament. In recent years Wichita State has dominated the conference in basketball and made a name for itself in the national rankings, reaching number 2 in the 2013-2014 season and making it to the Final Four at the end of the 2012-2013 season before losing a close game to eventual champions Louisville.

The Wichita State Shockers have made an appearance in several NCAA Tournaments and made it to the Final Four in a memorable 2013 run but this was not the Shockers' first trip to the Final Four, they made it all the way there once before, in 1965.
