Upon entering the Constant Convocation Center, or The Ted as it is known locally, you are immediately aware
that you have stepped into a venue steeped in musical history and on an 96x Winter Meltdown date the sensation is even more
intense. The entire venue is made over into a winter wonderland and the magic of the holiday season is definitely in the air.
Special vendors are on hand to provide holiday snacks and treats in addition to the typical rock show memorabilia which you
will certainly want to get your hands on before leaving the building so you have something tangible to help you remember this
night. After making your way into the performance area you are stunned by the attention to detail put into the construction
of the concert hall and by the time the opening act belts out the first few notes, the acoustics of the hall become the real
star of the show. Every sound is warm and perfectly resonates to fill up the venue, creating the perfect concert atmosphere.
Once headliners, Fall Out Boy, hit the stage you will be primed to dance and sing along to all of your favorite songs for
the rest of the night as the party is just getting started. Once the show is over you will immediately start discussing the
highlights with your friends and realize that you have no choice but to come back next year.
Fall Out Boy took an indefinite hiatus in 2009 citing personal reasons, and band leader Pete Wentz wanted to spend more time
with his new wife and less time in the spotlight. The band had always planned on trying to get together for another album
and they finally reunited in 2012. While a new album has yet to surface, the band has continued to perform and play some of
the major festivals around the world. The Constant Convocation Center, or The Ted, which opened in 2002 is located on the
campus of Old Dominion University and is home to the school's basketball team.
