Wiz Khalifa Background

Wiz Khalifa was born Cameron Jibril Thomaz in North Dakota, although he lived all over the world due to his father's job in the military. As a young child, Thomaz lived in the UK, Germany, Japan, and the US. Wiz Kahlifa may have grown up all over the world, but he started to really delve into the world of music when he returned to the US and live in Pittsburgh during his high school years. In 2004, Rostrum Records discovered the 16-year-old up and coming rapper and decided to sign him to their label. Just one year later, Wiz Khalifa released his debut mixtape, Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania, which started to attract some serious attention to the young rapper.

Wiz released his debut full length album in 2006, and Rolling Stone named him an "Artist to Watch" shortly afterward. After singing to Warner Bros in 2007, Wiz Khalifa's ascent into the hip hop spotlight was speedy. He started rattling off one charting hit after another, including hip hop favorites like "Say Yeah" and "Teach U To Fly". The more music that Wiz Khalifa released, the more popular he became, and before he knew it he was one of the biggest names in rap. Wiz started collaborating with major artists like Snoop Dogg, Curren$y, Bruno Mars, 2 Chainz, The Weeknd, Juicy J, and more.

This talented rap superstar has proven his talent over the past several years, but it's always exciting to such an incredible artist perform live when you get the chance. So as Wiz Khalifa heads out on his next round of shows this year, make sure that you have your tickets by checking out StubHub today!
