Me today! Hurry though, tickets are going fast!
Woe Is Me got their start in Atlanta, Georgia. Forming in 2009 by the former drummer of post-hardcore band Of Machines,
Woe Is Me consists of members who are a mash-up of who's who in the Atlanta rock scene. The group began recording their songs
and posting them to Myspace, where they developed a large following both inside Atlanta and out. In 2010, the group released
their first album entitled "Numbers" on Rise Records. The album would receive a 7.5 rating from popular music blog, the Lexington
Music Press. 2012 brought the release of their second album, "Genesis". "Genesis", also released on Rise Records, was met
with favorable reviews as well.
Metalcore sprung out of a cross-breeding of metal and hardcore punk. Taking influence from hardcore punk bands like Black
Flag, most metalcore bands have the same energy and ferocity in their music. The sound, however, developed to be a bit more
like metal - heavy, simple, and full of raw energy. As metallic hardcore grew as a genre, more and more bands began to splinter
off and create their own sound (part of the reason why such a diverse range of sounds exist in the genre today). Artists like
Trivium, Atreyu, and Killswitch Engage have broken through into the mainstream and established metalcore as genre that isn't
going anywhere for a while. Woe Is Me continues this tradition and keeps the very spirit from the genre's earliest beginnings
alive in their vocals and their pacing. Hurry and get your tickets to see Woe Is Me today!
