West Virginia Mountaineers
The West Virginia Mountaineers basketball program dates a long time, but the first time this program
really made national waves was in 1959, when the team made it all the way to the National Championship Game but fell short
of one last victory. The Mountaineers have made more than 20 appearances in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Final Four twice,

Virginia Mountaineers Basketball Trivia
How many times did West Virginia alumnus Jerry West score at least 30 points
or more per game in the NBA?
The answer is four, which is an amazing feat in any era but particularly back when West
was playing, mainly considering it was before the addition of the three-point arc. West certainly wasn't just a great scorer,
however, as he was always a terrific passer, particularly later in his career. Though West would remain a top-tier scorer
right until the end, he ended up averaging 9.5 assists or more two different seasons, including when he led the league assists
with a 9.7 per game clip back in 1971-1972 for the Lakers.
