Yellowcard formed in 1997 in Jacksonville, Florida, working their way up the rungs of the music industry. The original band members of Yellowcard met while attending the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. They released a few small-scale albums in the late 1990s that were met with positive reviews, but Yellowcard didn't really hit the national scene until they signed with Capitol Records and released Ocean Avenue in 2003.
Ocean Avenue really put Yellowcard on the map in the early 2000s, thanks in part to three massive hit singles that hit the charts running. Yellowcard's unique pop punk style and ability to incorporate a violin into their work has made this band one of the most popular on the mainstream music scene. Regardless of how you label them, this is one must-see group live in concert!
