About Yonder Mountain String Band
Mountain String Band is a progressive bluegrass band hailing from Nederland, Colorado. Consisting of David Johnston, Adam
Aijala, and Ben Kaufmann, the band has come to be known for their unique style that incorporates bluegrass and rock. Since
first honing their talents while performing in Boulder, Yonder Mounter String Band has generated a large following of loyal
fans who love their bluegrass sounds and jam band-style live performances. Yonder Mountain String Band released their debut
album in 1999, called "Elevation," which included the tracks "Half Moon Rising," "The Bolton Stretch," "Darkness and Light,"
"On the Run" and more.
The success of their debut album allowed them to perform live for many eager fans at NedFest,
a three-day musical festival in Nederland, Colorado. The festival features jazz, worldbeat, bluegrass, jambands, and more,

Yonder Mountain String Band started making the transition from festivals to venues, with performances at places like the legendary
Fillmore in San Francisco. Other notable performances included Denver's Democratic National Convention in 2008.
