Zac Brown Band Background
The Zac Brown Band started
with a restaurant owner visualizing a music career. Zac Brown, a Georgian-born singer, songwriter and bandleader with roots
steeped in Appalachian culture started a band when he was going to college. But they went their separate ways before an album
was completed. He established the Zac Brown Band in 2002 joined by Jimmy De Martini (fiddler) and John Hopkins (bassist).
a year into it he had created his Home Grown label (today's Southern Ground) and released Home Grown that same year. He sold
his Lake Oconee restaurant in 2004 to purchase a tour bus. The band hit the road and quickly became known for their amazing
live performances. In that same year, their album, Far From Einstyne, arrived.
Their breakthrough moment happened when
The Foundation was cut. The album not only snagged the No. 2 spot on Billboard Hot Country chart but also claimed platinum
status twice in the U.S. The mainstream success magnified with the addition of Clay Cook (multi-instrumentalist and high harmony
Brown said, "I'd been tryin' to get him in the band for three years, and you know, it's been a journey, but
I always knew [he could make us better]. I'm a harmony fanatic. I love big harmonies and things, and we didn't have a high
tenor, and Jimmy [De Martini], my fiddle player, sings a lot of the high stuff now, but havin' somebody that can actually
sing on top of that, we've added a four-part harmony now that's searing, and the guy's a monster player, too."
going strong, the Zac Brown Band has scored numerous accolades and awards, and they are recurrent nominees in leading country
music awards events, claiming as many as nine at the 46th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Zac Brown Band Albums
Their first major-label album The Foundation
(2006) featured these first-place singles: Chicken Fried, Toes and Highway 20 Ride, which helped catapult the band to national
stardom. In 2009, the band went on their first major tour to support the album, which included opening for the Dave Matthews
Band. They also began work on their next album, which culminated into 2010′s You Get What You Give. It was praised as
a more consistent work than their previous album, but it also continued a Zac Brown Band tradition of marrying influences
from across the musical spectrum. The band's tribute to Jimmy Buffet in Toes, the tropical lifestyle anthem, paid off when
Buffet joined them in recording the song, Knee Deep. They additionally collaborated with fellow country artist Alan Jackson.
Their identity now established, the band went on tour again and continues to tour today!
