About Zomboy

Joshua Jenkin, today more popularly known by his stage name Zomboy, would spend most of his life involved with music. However,e the idea being a musician remained foreign to him. Hailing from the UK and possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, Zomboy would first work his way into the sound engineering crowd and dabble with multiple recording studios. He would feel more at home designing and enhancing the works of other artists than creating his own. Over time, however, as Josh continued to collaborate with world renowned artists and hone his craft, he became acutely aware that he had an ever growing and persistent desire to create.

With the advent of dubstep, Joshua would begin to work under the moniker Place Your Bet$, citing an affinity for electronically dominated and pioneering sounds of electronic musicians Skrillex and Bare Noize. Changing from Place Your Bet$ to Zomboy, Joshua recorded and released his debut EP on the heavyweight Never Say Die Records, instantly making a name for himself as his sound would spread over multiple mediums, from traditional physical records to the internet. Zomboy would excel in the collaborative environment that defines DJing, with multiple artists picking up Zomboy's tracks including his previously mentioned inspiration, Skrillex. Joshua's popularity would snowball as he began touring and he would become one of the pivotal DJs within the dubstep scene.

Zomboy would continue to record original work while simultaneously experimenting and expanding on the works of other artists. Joshua's solo work would become equally as well known as his remixes, scoring millions of hits on YouTube and, after huge hit after huge hit, he would sign with legendary No Tomorrow Records. Today, Zomboy's work is becoming even more pioneering as he delves deeper into the dubstep genre, redefining it and building upon it. Joshua still draws inspirations from electronic music greats such as Reso and Rusko, but today the unique Zomboy sound is all his own.

Previous Hits

Zomboy has been releasing a flurry of hits since his bursting onto the global music scene in 2011. His earliest EP Game Time would feature "Pump It Up" and "Game Time", with the former being a heralding of Zomboy's soon to be meteoric rise to the top. He would follow up Game Time with The Dead Symphonic EP, featuring a track with a guest spot by Belle Humble in the hit "City 2 City". Alongside "Nuclear", Zomboy took his now growing catalog list to the road as he began to perform to larger and larger crowds.

With a still amorphous sound, Joshua released Reanimated, Pt. 1 Ep that would include two mega hits "Terror Squad" and "Braindead". Dropped in 2013, the entirety of Reanimated is the most defining work put out by Zomboy yet. The second half of the EP, Reanimated, Pt. 2, would drop on No Tomorrow Records and be carried by the hit "Bad Intentions". Feeling comfortable enough to lock his sound down into a full length, Zomboy is currently working away on his first LP The Outbreak, due out by the end of 2014.

In true new wave DJ style, Zomboy has also released two mega singles, "Here to Stay" and "WTF!?". Alongside his extensive catalog of remixes - Rihanna's "Only Girl", Modestep's "Sunlight", Flux Pavilion's "Bass Cannon", amongst others - Zomboy has been consistently populating the airwaves all over the world.

Zomboy has been a fan of collaborations with female vocalists, including Lady Chann and Belle Humble.

Zomboy's music is at hard times to pin down. While he identified as dubstep in his early days, he has since been classified under a slew of other genres, including drumstep and glitch hop.
