AC DC Tribute Tickets
Among one of the most popular hard rock bands to come from the southern hemisphere, AC/DC have several touring tribute acts that play their material. Among the best known in the UK is the AC/DC Experience, which plays one-off gigs as well as embarking on nationwide tours. The AC/DC tribute show they put on includes many of the greatest rock songs in their back catalogue. The AC/DC Experience perform tracks from both the Bon Scott and the Brian Johnson eras of the original band. Audience goers can expect to hear “Highway To Hell”, “Shoot To Thrill” and the ever-popular “Back In Black”, to name but three. Other regularly heard songs on the band's live set list include “Whole Lotta Rosie” and “The Jack”, offering an authentic audio as well as visual interpretation of the Australian hard rockers.
AC/DC tribute format
Like other honed tribute acts, the AC/DC Experience make great use of state-of-the-art lighting and a projection show to augment their sound. Songs such as “Thunderstruck”, “Hells Bells”, “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” are played in quick succession to keep the audience going, with a lively atmosphere. Having rehearsed their songs to sound as much like the original as possible, the members of the AC/DC Experience offer musicianship that rivals that of the band they are copying. The current lineup of the Lancashire-based group consists of Darran Short on vocals, Andy Holt on lead guitar and Steven Wolf on bass. James Stringfellow is the tribute act's second guitarist, while Dennis Duxbury is the group's drummer.
AC/DC tribute trivia
The AC/DC Experience perform vocals in the style of both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson, who took over from Scott as the band's frontman after he passed away in 1980. However, AC/DC was originally fronted by a singer called Dave Evans in the band's formative years.
In 2016, AC/DC announced that Axl Rose, best known for his work with the US hard rock outfit Guns 'n' Roses, was to be the band's main singer for a string of tour dates.
In 2009, the official statistician of music sales in the US, the Recording Industry Association of America, said that it had upgraded AC/DC's total sales figures from 69 million to 71 million, thereby establishing the group as the fifth best selling band ever.
Angus Young, the band's lead guitarist, is known for his schoolboy uniform stage persona and his singular version of a duckwalk, first made famous by Chuck Berry. Both elements are included in the AC/DC Experience's performances.
