See one of the world’s most celebrated sopranos
Ainhoa Arteta first made her operatic debut in 1990, but it was in 1993 that she achieved huge recognition for her incredible soprano voice. It was during this year that she won the prestigious world opera competition, Operalia, as well as the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. They were just the first of many accolades she would receive. To name just a few, she won "Best Classical Artist" at the Spanish Music Awards in 2001, the Premios Ondas award for "Best Classical Work" in 2001, and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2015. In the years following her rise to fame, she took part in many acclaimed opera productions, performing at places such as the Royal Opera House in London and the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. She often performs alongside other incredible artists, too, such as Malcolm Martineau and the Orquestra de Cadaqués. Whether it’s a classical recital or one of her pop concerts, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable night when you book Ainhoa Arteta tickets on StubHub.
Ainhoa Arteta: an incredibly multi-talented performer
One of the most endearing aspects of Ainhoa Arteta is that she is so multi-talented. As well as opera, she has performed other types of music such as Lieder (a German form of music where poetry is set to classical music) and zarzuela (a Spanish form of music where stories are told in both sung and spoken scenes). Of course, outside the world of classical music she is known for her breath-taking renditions of much-loved pop songs. Her debut classical-pop album was released in 2009, entitled "La Vida". It reached No. 3 on the Spanish albums chart and elevated this incredible classical performer to mainstream success (much in the same way as the violinist Vanessa-Mae, when she released her first classical-pop album). It was a true tour de force, with re-workings of songs in a variety of languages including Silvio Rodriguez’s "La Vida" (Spanish), Eric Clapton’s "Tears in Heaven" (English), and Jacques Brel’s "Ne Me Quitte Pas" (French).
