Historic Al Lang Stadium is in the heart of Saint Petersburg, Florida. Built in 1947, the stadium is named after former Saint Petersburg mayor, Al Lang. Lang was a driving force behind bringing baseball spring training operations to the city. Al Lang Stadium has been renovated three times. The most recent makeover in 2015 was to modify it to host professional soccer matches. It is now the home of the Tampa Bay Rowdies Major League Soccer team. In 2018, the Tampa Bay Rays purchased the Rowdies and assumed ownership of the stadium. Ironically, the Rays were the last team to officially use Al Lang Stadium for spring training.
