Aladdin St. Louis Tickets
Aladdin St. Louis TicketsDisney has brought many famous fairy tales to life, but one of its most beloved was its 1992 story about a street rat named Aladdin. Aladdin went on to earn a 2019 remake, but before this modern take, there was the Broadway play. This play has now recently celebrated its fifth year, and there’s clearly no end in sight. The Broadway production even features musical numbers that didn’t quite make it into the theatrical release, and some of the music has been subtly altered to make it timelier and more entertaining. Aladdin follows the life of the title character as he navigates the life of an impoverished thief that frequently finds that he must steal to eat. Over the course of the story, Aladdin finds a new best friend and love as he also navigates multiple dangerous situations and misadventures. The play is based on the movie, which was based on Aladdin and the Magic Lamp from the Middle Eastern tale, One Thousand and One Nights.
A Magic Carpet Ride, Live!At the heart of this sometimes uproariously funny play is a tale of romance and adventure, and each of the characters is expressive, fresh and is integral to the overall plot. The first inkling that there would be a stage play version of the 1992 classic came in 2010 when Alan Menken, who was the composer of the original movie, mentioned that he was working on an adaptation for the stage. While Menken handled much of the musical heavy lifting, Chad Beguelin was tapped to handle the writing of the book for the adaptation. Beguelin is fairly famous on Broadway for being the playwright and book writer of other adaptations for The Wedding Singer, Elf the Musical and The Prom. The show made its critically-acclaimed debut in March 2014. The show is the latest in a wave of Disney movies-turned-plays, which include famous examples like Mary Poppins and The Lion King.
