Alan Walker, formerly known as DJ Walkzz or Walkzz, was born in August 1997. Growing up through the digital age inspired Walker's innate interest in computers, which grew into a fascination for programming and graphic design. Though he had no initial musical background, Walker taught himself music production by watching video tutorials on YouTube. At 15 years old, Walker was casually listening to a song by DJ Ness, which prompted him to reach out to the Italian DJ for advice on music production. Inspired by the likes of K-391, Ahrix, Hans Zimmer and Steve Jablonsky, Walker began producing music on his laptop. In July 2012, he began seriously pursuing music production and posting his work to SoundCloud and YouTube with the encouraging help and feedback from his online fans. In 2014, Walker worked with NoCopyrightSounds to release "Fade." The track currently has more than 370 million YouTube views, 79 million Spotify plays and 35 million SoundCloud streams. Within a year of the release of "Fade," Walker signed with MER Musikk and released "Faded," a remastered vocal version of his former track. The single topped numerous charts and is currently among the top ten most-liked YouTube videos. Walker has released multiple singles and an album titled Different World.
