Alina Baraz is a true online musical success story with high volume streams and cult following. Admired for her downtempo electronica sound and alternative R&B style, Baraz is carving her own experimental lane that has earned her the opportunity to perform at high-profile events and work with A-list artists. Her collaborative EP with Danish electronic producer Galimatias, Urban Flora, was completed entirely by sending each other music through Facebook between 2013 and 2015. The EP peaked at No. 111 on the US Billboard Top 200 and at No. 2 on US Billboard Top Dance/Electronics Album Chart – not bad for an online artist's first EP release. Baraz released her first solo EP, The Color of You, on April 6, 2018.

Born on September 24, 1993, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Ukranian parents, Baraz grew up listening to classical music and eventually took a personal interest in 1990s music. She was influenced by R&B powerhouses such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse and Adele. Her career picked up momentum after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 19, where she wrote and released a song on SoundCloud in 2013 called "Drift" using one of Galimatias' instrumentals. They quickly formed a partnership and released "Pretty Thoughts" and "Make You Feel" in 2013. Their EP Urban Flora was officially released on May 19, 2015, on SoundCloud and was also released commercially through Ultra Music. The EP received highly positive critical reception, earning her and Galimatias spots on the US Billboard. Baraz released her first solo EP, The Color of You, in 2018 which features the hit single, "Electric," with Khalid. Baraz had a very busy summer in 2016 when she first made her live solo appearances at several North American music festivals, including Sasquatch! Music Festival, Electric Forest Festival, Lightning in a Bottle and Lollapalooza. Baraz went on a brief solo tour called the Let's Get Lost Tour in 2017 where she performed in various cities in the US and Canada.
