Alter Bridge is a beloved band with a combination of high-energy rock songs and slower ballads with meaningful lyrics. The band's songs have been regularly featured in popular media such as WWE and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Alter Bridge has released five studio albums to date, and the sixth is scheduled for an October 2019 release.
The instrumentalists who now make up Alter Bridge all used to be members of Creed. They were fans of The Mayfield Four, which inspired them to invite the band's former vocalist Myles Kennedy to be their frontman. Alter Bridge took its name from an actual bridge in Detroit located near guitarist Mark Tremonti's home when the group formed in 2004. Alter Bridge released its debut album One Day Remains that June. The album peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold before the year ended. One Day Remains produced three singles, including "Metalingus" which was featured as a WWE entrance song for seven years. Alter Bridge released its follow-up album, Blackbird, in 2010. The album peaked at No. 13, and 2011's AB III hit No. 17. Five singles were produced with "Isolation" being the most successful. In 2012, Alter Bridge went on a brief hiatus during which all of the members worked on other projects. The band members returned to the studio in early 2013 and released Fortress that July. Considered one of Alter Bridge's most high-energy albums, Fortress rose to No. 12 on the charts. Three singles came from the album, and the lead single, "Addicted to Pain," received the most commercial success. In 2016, the band released The Last Hero, including the singles "Show Me A Leader," "Poison in My Veins" and "My Champion." Alter Bridge will be releasing its sixth studio album, Walk The Sky, in October 2019.
