Amelie made its world debut at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in 2015 with Samantha Barks (Chicago and Les Miserables) in the main role of Amelie. After a brief tryout period in Los Angeles, Amelie then moved to Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre, where it ran for 56 performances between April 3 and May 21 in 2017.[ he opening night featured a cast of Hamilton star Phillipa Soo as Amelie, Adam Chanler-Berat as Nino and Tony Sheldon as Dufayel, plus a crew of Tony winner Pam MacKinnon as director and Sam Pinkleton as choreographer.
