An American in Paris
An inspiring story of hope and love after the horrors of World War II, the story follows American soldier Jerry Mulligan in post-war Paris. He decides to remain in Paris to pursue his love of painting and after his encounter with a mysterious woman. He settles in with the help of friends Adam Hochberg, a fellow veteran, and Henri Baurel, a son of a wealthy French Industrialist. Not long after, he reconnects with his lady of mystery. She turns out to be Lise Dassin, French ballerina and the woman he and Adam have encouraged Henri to propose to.
Jerry’s luck turns when he gets a timely introduction to the Paris art scene. His future becomes clear. So does the future of friend Henri. Each finds themselves called to different paths. Lise discovers she faces a difficult choice between love and devotion. As she establishes herself as an accomplished artist of her own, she sets off to meet her love.
