Following the war, American soldier Jerry Mulligan decides to remain in Paris when he encounters a mysterious woman and, more practically, to pursue his passion for painting. With a little help from veteran and composer Adam Hochberg and Henri Baurel, son of a wealthy French industrialist, he gets settled. Soon after, he meets his muse and learns she’s French ballerina, Lise Dassin. And she’s the same girl he and Adam have encouraged Henri to propose to.
Jerry’s fortune takes a positive turn when he’s introduced to the Paris art scene. The futures for Jerry and Henri become clear. Lise comes to realize she faces a choice between love and devotion in a decision that will shape her life and of those she loves most.
