More about the Arizona Speaker Series
This series brings together distinguished panelists. The hope was that the speakers would be able to inspire others to do more. That means to educate the community about what's happening on the national and global levels and to promote critical thinking about how to solve problems. Some of the ideas presented are controversial, and that's by intention. The people behind the scenes of the event want people to leave with more awareness and understanding of complex issues.
This specific speaker series issues tickets to people via a subscription. The subscription means that you would buy tickets for all the speakers in a season. There are seven speakers in a given season.
The Arizona Speaker Series experience
Due to the layout of the theater, you can get fairly close with someone who you may have been familiar with from the national news. You can hear stories from a unique perspective from someone who has been in a position of significant influence. You also may be able to engage with a speaker during a question-and-answer session.
In general, you can expect the speaker to deliver prepared remarks for about 45 minutes, maybe a bit longer. After this, there's an allotment of audience-submitted questions for approximately 35-45 minutes. The events in this series are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
Arizona Speaker Series location
This esteemed panel of guests takes turns on the stage of the Comerica Theatre. The theater, located right in the lively downtown neighborhood of Phoenix, holds 5,000 seats. While it has state-of-the-art music and sound systems, its overall design is classic, with the stage at a lower elevation than the seats around it. It regularly hosts ballet shows like the Russian Nutcracker, live musical performances from the likes of Bob Dylan and Lauryn Hill as well as stand-up comedy acts such as the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.
