Ford did not break the trend but continued the streak with three more tournament appearances. The second year of that streak saw Ford named the Pac-12 coach of the year. That same year, the Sun Devils posted a win record of 48, which was their 23rd-straight 30-win season. Ford, who is a strong pitching coach, helped her pitchers maintain an outstanding ERA of 2.32 during her first season as head coach. Prior to joining the Sun Devils, Ford was at Fresno State, where she led the Bulldogs to back-to-back Mountain West Conference championships during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
