AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am TicketsThe AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one of the world’s premier golf tournaments in which professional and amateur golfers compete side by side. The tournament has a long and interesting history that dates back to 1937. Bing Crosby hosted the very first Pro-Amateur Golf Championship in Rancho Sante Fe, California, as an opportunity to enjoy time with friends and raise money for charity. Following a brief suspension for World War 2, the tournament resumed play in 1947 at Pebble Beach. Bing Crosby continued to be heavily associated with the tournament until his death. AT&T became the official title sponsor in 1986. Past winners have included all-time golf luminaries: Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ben Crenshaw and Sam Snead. Phil Mickelson and Mark O'Meara are the all-time leaders with five titles apiece. The amateur portion of the tournament typically features celebrities and other public figures able to afford the entry fee. Actor Bill Murray is a perennial tournament favorite. If you want to catch the professionals and amateurs playing side by side, then you should purchase AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tickets at StubHub.
What is the format of the tournament? The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am involves 156 professionals and 156 amateur golfers. Each professional is paired up with an amateur golfer for the first three days of the tournament to play each course once throughout the Pebble Beach area. For the final day at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, the tournament features both an individual cut and a team cut. The top 60 professionals compete for the tournament title in the individual cut, much like any other golf tournament, while the top 25 pro-am teams make the team cut to compete for a separate championship. If the tournament goes into a sudden death playoff, then the golfers will play on the final hole again and twice if necessary. The tournament otherwise adheres to standard PGA rules.
When does the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am take place? The 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am schedule is set to take place between February 3rd and 9th at its usual location in Pebble Beach. The tournament officially begins on February 6th. However, there are plenty of activities to experience before the official start of the tournament. On February 4th, attendees can watch the practice rounds and a special shoot-out involving top professionals. On February 5th, attendees can experience more practice rounds, a celebrity challenge and a million dollar hole-in-one for charity.
Who was the winner of the previous tournament?Phil Mickelson won the 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with a final score of 19 under par. Paul Casey and Scott Stallings finished in second and third places, respectively, with scores of 16 and 15 under par.
What is the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am like? The Pebble Beach Golf Links is the centerpiece of the pro-am tournament. With its intimidating cliff faces and narrow approaches, Pebble Beach is the shortest course on the PGA Tour — and one of the most infamous. If you need to purchase food and refreshments, then you can visit the loft, the club, the wine lounge and various food trucks. In the past, there has also been a fan experience (with games and contests) and a veteran’s outpost near the 15th fairway. Attendees are expected to follow proper golf etiquette. Marshals in bright blue jackets are present on all courses to remind you when to remain silent.
