The Augusta GreenJackets team is the Single-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants. The team was initially established as an expansion team for the 1988 season as the Augusta Pirates, Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. It didn't take long for the franchise to become successful as they won the Southern Atlantic League championship in their second season in existence. However, the next four seasons would see a consistent regression as the team didn't make the playoffs and put up a worse win-loss record each season. The Boston Red Sox became the parent organization beginning in 1999 and soon helped keep the winning nature of the franchise. They won another championship in 1999 and made the playoffs every year between 1995 and 2001. The GreenJackets have been a Giants affiliate since 2005 and have made multiple playoff appearances since then, including another league title in 2008. Coming off a 2019 first-round playoff exit, the GreenJackets look to get back to championship form. Get your tickets to see the Augusta GreenJackets at StubHub.
