Backyard Brawl Trivia
Did you know that Dan Marino doesn't even have the most Pro Bowls for Pittsburgh alumni?
Though Marino torched many of the record books at the time after he came out of the Pittsburgh program in the mid-1980s, his nine NFL Pro Bowls has been tied or surpassed by two other players who dominated for the Panthers before taking their game to the next level. While Ruben Brown was a stalwart on the line for the Bills and the Bears, earning nine Pro Bowls, it was Joe Schmidt who holds the Panthers record with 10. As a linebacker for the Lions, Schmidt was one of the greatest players at his position for much of the 1950s and 1960s, cementing him as one of the top players to ever come out of Pittsburgh.
