Bands of America TicketsBands of America is a competitive championship for high school marching bands. Since its inception in 1975 as Marching Bands of America, the main championship event has been attended by up to 450,000 spectators every year. To further promote musical education amongst youth, Bands of America merged with the non-profit Music for All Foundation in 2006. The Grand National Championship is the most coveted and the most competitive event held under the Bands of America umbrella. Initially, the goal of the program was to provide educational opportunities to music students but the success of the inaugural championships led to its further continuation as an annual competitive event. In recent years, the Music for All Foundation has launched other similar programs including Orchestra and Honor Band of America. Since 1975, Bands of America has served nearly 1.75 million students nationwide, and, as one of the oldest and most established events of its kind, the rules and adjudication manual developed by Bands of America are regularly used by other marching band competitions across the country.
