Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off TicketsThe Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off is a unique preseason tournament that provides a wide array of Division I basketball teams the opportunity to play against each other before conference action begins. There are two brackets called the Springfield and Naismith brackets. Eight teams are selected to play in the tournament each November. The early games in the tournament are held on the campuses of the participating teams. At this point in the tournament, several games might be played featuring one team from each bracket. The two brackets do not play against each other during the final tournament weekend, but rather one winner is selected from each bracket. The teams selected for the Naismith bracket are often teams expected to have a strong chance at winning the NCAA Tournament. The teams selected for the Springfield bracket are often smaller programs that might make it to the NCAA Tournament, teams that have impressive players and those with a strong chance at winning the NIT Tournament.
