Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is a jukebox musical based on the life and career of respected singer-songwriter Carole King. It also features her husband, Gerry Goffin; their friends, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil; and the music they wrote together. The musical plays at Bass Performance Hall for the Fort Worth, Texas stop on its national tour, as part of the venue's Broadway at the Bass series.

The premiere of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical took place in San Francisco in October 2013 and had a sold out run at the Curran Theatre before it transferred to Broadway the following January. The original production was directed by Marc Bruni and choreographed by Josh Prince, with musical direction by Jason Howland. The book was written by Douglas McGrath and based on the real life of American composer, singer and songwriter Carole King.
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical tells the story of how King forged a career in music from a young age. It follows her relationship and musical partnership with fellow songwriter Gerry Goffin, to whom she was married for nine years. The musical features songs written by the couple and their friends Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. These include "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "Up on the Roof" and "I Feel the Earth Move."
On Broadway, King was first played by Jessie Mueller, who won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance. She has since gone on to originate the role of Jenna in the musical, Waitress. Other original stars of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical included Canadian actor Jake Epstein as Gerry Goffin, Anika Larsen as Cynthia Weil and Jarrod Spector as Barry Mann. The Broadway production is performed at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
The Broadway production Beautiful: The Carole King Musical received positive reviews from theatre critics. It was nominated for seven Tony Awards and won two, in addition to three Drama Desk Awards. The show was particularly praised for the cast and orchestra's musical performances, and the cast recording won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2015.
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical began touring the US in 2015, and has been performed at theatres such as the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. The show also transferred to London's West End, where cast members Katie Brayben and Lorna Want were both winners at the prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards.
