Big and Rich -- the country music duo of singer-songwriters Big Kenny and John Rich -- have been performing together since 1998 and are best known for their singles "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" and "Lost in this Moment." They have collaborated with fellow country stars such as Tim McGraw and Gretchen Wilson and regularly tour the U.S., playing tracks from their five studio albums.
Big Kenny started out as a solo artist with Hollywood Records, while John Rich was a founding member of the band Lonestar before going on to release solo music via BNA Records. They met in the late '90s and wrote their first song together in '98. They formed the country collective MuzikMafia with Gretchen Wilson and Cowboy Troy, and as a duo, wrote songs for Martina McBride, eventually signing with Warner Bros. Nashville in 2003.
The following year, Big and Rich toured with country legend Tim McGraw and released their debut album Horse of a Different Color. Success came quickly, as the album went to No. 1 and they performed at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards. Their second single "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" was their first to reach the Billboard Hot Country Songs top 20 and remains one of their best-known hits today.
Big and Rich's biggest hit came with 2007's "Lost in This Moment," which reached No. 1 and crossed over to Adult Contemporary radio. After a hiatus from 2008 to 2011, the duo returned with new music to great critical acclaim on the album Hillbilly Jedi. They were nominated for CMA, CMT and ACM awards during 2012 and 2013, and went on to launch their own independent label to release their fifth studio album Gravity in 2015.
