Billy Price Tickets
Billy Price, masterful purveyor of modern and vintage blues
Billy Price is a US soul and blues singer from Pittsburgh via New Jersey who has sung with some of the big names in the soul and jazz world. His voice has a classic blues-soul timbre à la George Worthmore or Billy Gibbons and his entire persona is steeped in this tradition. His contribution to the modern blues genre in particular has earned him industry recognition across the board. He's a chameleon-like character, retaining a career in software engineering at the same time as his highly successful music career, so you can look forward to an intelligent performer at the height of his powers when you buy or sell Billy Price tickets on StubHub.
Early tours with iconic blues artists
Billy Price became a blues star in the 1970s when he hooked up with legendary blues guitarist Roy Buchanan. Together they played festivals and major venues across North America, hitting all the well-known landmarks, like the Roxy in LA, the Newport Jazz Festival and New York's Carnegie Hall. His recording career began in 1981 when he released two albums with his first blues outfit, the Keystone Rhythm Band. The band continued performing and recording for around a decade, and when it broke up, he formed the Billy Price Band, which he has run in tandem with his solo career ever since. Occasionally, he has also performed with an outfit he calls the Charm City Rhythm Band, so he has always made sure to have plenty of outlets for his song writing and to indulge his love of playing blues standards and obscure, forgotten gems. He's the consummate blues traveller, and an artist you really should see if you're a fan of this deeply traditional Southern music. Get a taste of it with Billy Price tickets.
Award-winning blues album collaborations
Billy Price has also worked quite extensively with the late soul and gospel singer Otis Clay, recording a duet with him back in 1995 and a full album in 2015. The latter, "This Time For Real", won him Soul Blues Album of the year at the BMA Blues Music Awards. In the same year, he was named a Modern Era Inductee at the Legends of Pittsburgh Rock 'n' Roll Awards. His other collaborations have produced a catalogue of high quality blues albums: down the years, he has worked with artists like Monster Mike Welch, Fred Chapellier and Mark Stutso, drummer from The Nighthawks. In-between, he tours year in and year out, in the time-honoured tradition of the bluesman. Catch him in your city with Billy Price tickets that you'll find on StubHub.
