Blood Youth - British hardcore punks
Signed to renowned rock label Rude Records, hardcore punks Blood Youth are a British quartet who formed from the ashes of the similarly-sounding Climates. You can both buy and sell Blood Youth tickets on StubHub.
Formed from the ashes of Climates
The majority of Blood Youth's original line-up had first started performing together in Climates, a Lincoln-based melodic hardcore outfit who released debut album 'Body Clocks' in 2014 before splitting shortly after. Chris Pritchard and his fellow guitar player Sam Bowden, bassist Max Dawson and drummer Matt Powels then recruited singer Kaya Tarsus, formerly of Book of Job, to complete the group and released their first EP, "Inside My Head", through Rude Records in 2015. Later that same year, Bowden and Powels both quit the band, with the latter being replaced by Sam Hallett, and in 2016, the group issued their second EP, 'Closure'. After dropping their debut album, 'Beyond Repair', in 2017, Blood Youth underwent another change in personnel when Matt Hollinson took over bass duties from founding member Dawson. A year later, the group premiered a behind-the-scenes documentary short film titled 'From the Ground Up' and entered the studio to record their sophomore, 'Starve'. Blistering riffs, booming basslines, pummelling beats
Inspired by everything from the hardcore punk of Every Time I Die, Stick to Your Guns and Beartooth to the nu-metal of Korn and Slipknot, to the post-hardcore of Funeral for a Friend, Blood Youth make even more noise on stage than they do on record. The four-piece soon make audience members' hairs stand on the back of their necks with their loud and proud array of blistering guitar riffs, booming basslines and pummelling beats. And frontman Kaya Tarsus, who often strips to his waist and leaves the stage to join his fans, only adds to the general sense of organised chaos. However, his powerful vocals and emotive lyrical themes addressing such tough subjects as homelessness, alcoholism and financial hardships ensures that there's substance to the band's hard-hitting style. Fans should expect to hear all the highlights from the band's emotive back catalogue, including the singles 'Mood Swing', 'Reason to Stay', 'Keep You Alive' and 'Parasite'. Don't miss out on the chance to see one of the British hardcore punk scene's most vital bands and purchase your Blood Youth tickets on StubHub today.
