Brandon Ridenour is a virtuoso trumpeter, pianist, composer and arranger based in New York City. He is a member of several ensembles, including Founders, Useful Chambers, and Decoda.

A much sought after artist, Ridenour appears as a concerto soloist with many orchestras, such as the National Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. He plays with leading ensembles, such as the New York Philharmonic, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.

His recitals have taken place in many locations, including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Walt Disney Hall and the Regina Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University, among others. His performances are many, including the Northeastern Illinois University’s Jewel Box Series, the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock, and the St. Vincent College Concert Series.

About Brandon Ridenour

Ridenour learned to play the piano at the age of five; he was taught by his father, a pianist and composer. Father and son still perform together frequently. He is a graduate of The Julliard School and an alumnus of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble ACJW. At the age of 20, he became the youngest member ever to join the “iconic” Canadian Brass. With the group, he performed around the world, recorded ten albums and received three Juno Award nominations.

He is a member off Founders, dynamic classical musicians from New York City; this songwriting collective performs pieces that range from Appalachian Folk originals to Radiohead covers, to art songs using famous poetry.

Ridenour is also a member of Useful Chamber, which formed in 2014 as an acoustic ensemble designed to be a flexible vehicle for collaborations. Joining with songwriters, bands, contemporary composers and solo instrumentalists, even visual artists and dancers, they look to enhance their sound and vision with the natural sound of acoustic orchestral instrumentation.

Decoda is a New York City-based chamber ensemble comprised of virtuoso musicians, entrepreneurs and passionate advocates of the arts. They create innovative performances and projects with partners across the globe.
