Bruce in the USA tour dates
Bruce in the USA is a high-energy and visually accurate recreation of Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. Frontman Matt Ryan, from the "Legends in Concert" cast, pays tribute to Bruce's legendary concert experiences with an unforgettable performance.
Matt Ryan's background
Matt Ryan spent eight years honing his Bruce Springsteen tribute as part of an ensemble cast in Las Vegas. In the "Legends in Concert" show, Ryan was able to build his act from the ground up and come to understand his character as it pertained to performance art. Ryan's uncanny resemblance to Springsteen contributes to the overall visual effect and brings the show the extra step from watching a cover-band play to feeling like you are seeing the real thing.
Bruce in the USA history
In 2009, Matt Ryan evolved his performance from a 15-minute part in "Legends in Concert" to a full-scale show, starting Bruce in the USA at what was formerly known as The Aladdin Casino (now Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino) on the Las Vegas strip. The show has since picked up roots and hit the road, touring across the United States to concert halls and outdoor venues.
Bruce in the USA's biggest hits
Promising a night to remember, Bruce in the USA covers some of Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band's biggest hits. Popular songs include "Dancing in the Dark," "Born in the U.S.A.," "Badlands," "Cover Me," "No Surrender," "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)," "Thunder Road," "Glory Days," "Hungry Heart" and "Born to Run."
When Ryan was in high school, he said other kids nick-named him "the Boss" because he looked and sounded like Springsteen. However, he hadn't yet embraced the resemblance. He even tried to talk differently to distance himself from the celebrity.
Despite paying tribute to him for a living, at the age of 17 Matt Ryan attended the only Bruce Springsteen concert he's been to.
Ryan has never met "the Boss" in person, but has been invited to meet him on a few different occasions. He says that playing Springsteen is easier if he can keep the character in his mind fictional. However, Ryan says he would like to have Springsteen see one of the Bruce in the USA tribute shows.
Two members of the Bruce in the USA band performed with famous musical groups - the bass player is in Queen, and the B-3 player is from The O'Jays.
